Daily Use

Cleanser (Facial Wash)

Purpose:  Removes dirt, dead skin cells, excess oil, and other pollutants. Helps to un-clog pores and reduce the development and appearance of acne blemishes.
Selection:
  Stronger, acid-based cleansers for very oily skin; creamy, lotion-type cleansers for very dry skin. Most cleansers are appropriate for all skin types. If your face feels “tight” or slightly irritated when it dries immediately after cleansing and before moisturising, then the cleanser has removed too much of your skin’s protective oils. As a result, your skin will overproduce oil to compensate. This can lead to mid-day “shine” and clogged pores. Under these circumstances, it is best to select another cleanser with a higher moisturising function.
Application:  Mix with tepid water. Use your hands or a gentle washcloth to apply directly to face and neck. Rinse with tepid water. Pat dry with a soft towel.
Frequency:  Once in the morning and once at night, before bed.
Order:  Cleanse before shaving and/or toning.
Exceptions:  None.

Shave Cream / Shave Gel

Purpose:  Softens beard hair so that it is easier to cut. Creates a glide surface for the razor blade, greatly reducing the likelihood of razor burn and post-shave blemishes caused by ingrown hairs and razor bumps.
Selection:  Shave gels for very oily skin. Most shave creams and shave gels are appropriate for all skin types.
Application:  Mix with tepid water. Use the tips of your fingers or a shave brush (with products that are specifically designed for brush use) to lather directly onto the beard area. Wait 30-60 seconds and then shave. Rinse with cool water.
Frequency:  Once in the morning, or as needed.
Order:  Shave after cleansing and before toning. The best time to shave is in or immediately after a shower.
Exceptions:  Not required, if you use an electric razor or grow a beard.

Toner / Toner-astringent

Purpose:  Cleans pores. Removes cleanser or shaving residue. Restores the skin’s acid mantle (i.e. lowers elevated pH levels) after cleansing or shaving, and makes the skin less vulnerable to bacterial invasion. Reduces mid-day “shine” (i.e. excess oil build-up).
Selection:  Hydrating toner for normal to dry skin; toner-astringent for oily skin.  Application:  Moisten a cotton ball or cosmetics pad and swab face and neck.  Frequency:  As needed, though most commonly applied once in the morning and once at night, before bed.
Order:  Tone after cleansing or shaving. Tone as a mid-day treatment to remove dirt, excess oil, and other pollutants, or after prolonged sun exposure, to restore the skin’s acid mantle.
Exceptions:  Not required, if you use a pH-balanced cleanser

After-shave

Purpose:  Restores moisture to the skin after it has been shaved. Relieves mild post-shave irritation.
Selection:  Toning after-shave liquids for very oily or very sensitive skin. Most after-shaves are appropriate for all skin types.
Application:  Massage a dime-sized amount into freshly shaven skin.
Frequency:  Once in the morning, or as needed.
Order:  Use immediately after you shave and tone, and before you moisturise.
Exceptions:  Not required, if you regularly use moisturiser and do not experience problems with post-shave irritation.

Moisturiser

Purpose:  Prevents moisture in the top layer of skin from evaporating, or absorbs into the top layer of skin to promote water retention.
Selection:  Oil- or silicon-based (occlusive) moisturisers for dry skin; oil-free (humectant) lotions for oily skin. Some “oil-free” moisturisers may, in fact, contain small amounts of oil emulsified in water. These do not tend to complicate oily skin.
Application:  Use the tips of your fingers to gently massage small dabs of moisturiser into your skin.
Frequency:  As needed, though most commonly applied once in the morning and once at night, before bed.
Order:  Moisturise after cleansing or shaving and toning.
Exceptions:  Not required, if you have very oily skin. Not required at night, unless you have very dry skin or follow an anti-aging regimen.

Pre-shave Oil / Electric Razor Pre-shave

Purpose:  Pre-shave oil softens coarse beard hair so that it is easier to cut. Electric razor pre-shave creates a glide surface for the rotating blades, greatly reducing the likelihood of post-shave irritation.
Selection:  Most pre-shave oils and electric razor pre-shaves are appropriate for all skin types.
Application:  Massage a dime-sized amount into your beard. Wait 30-60 seconds. Shave with your electric razor, or apply shave cream or shave gel directly atop the shave oil and then shave with your safety razor.
Frequency:  Once in the morning.
Order:  After cleansing and before shaving.
Exceptions:  Not required, if you have a light beard or do not experience problems with post-shave irritation.

SHAVING
PRE SHAVE TIPS:
Shave after your shower, or apply a hot washcloth to your beard for approx. 30 seconds. Steam softens facial hair making it easier to shave.
Cleanse skin with a combination of Face Wash and Facial Scrub. Scrubs contain granules that slough away dead skin, lifting facial hairs, resulting in a smoother shave and fewer ingrown hairs.

SHAVING TIPS:
Technique:
Use short strokes and a sharp blade (maximum 5 shaves per cartridge). Rinse blade often under hot water to keep blade sharp.
Application:
The use of a badger hair shave brush will evenly disperse the cream and lift facial hair.Allow Super Close Shave Formula to sit on the skin for 30 seconds. Shave difficult areas last, permitting the cream to soften the hair longer.
Razor bumps and burn:
Shave in the direction of the hair growth only. While this may not offer the closest shave, it does provide the least amount of irritation.
"Razor Bumps" - For fast relief and prevention from outbreaks. - dab a pea-sized amount of Razor Bump Relief on the affected area. (see directions on package)

POST SHAVE TIPS:
Follow with a splash of cold water to close the pores.
Finish by applying a light application of soothing

CLEANSING
Shower in warm (not hot) water with non-drying Invigorating Body Wash or Vitamin EDA Cleansing Bars.
Wash facial skin with fragrance free Face Wash, non-drying and gentle, formulated for all skin types.
Hot water and harsh soaps dry out your skin. Dehydrated skin produces excess oil resulting in irritation and breakouts.
Ideal for normal-oily skin types: apply Herbal Mint Toner to cleansed skin to remove excess dirt and oil, banishing shine, leaving skin refreshed with a matte finish.

HAIR
Daily Protein Shampoo and Moisturizing Conditioner protects against scalp build up caused by styling products, environmental pollutants and toxins such as DHT.
Finish by applying a light to medium application of Clay Pomade. A light application provides style and direction, while a heavier application will provide more hold. Applying to dry hair helps achieve a more matte finish, while applying to wet hair will give you more of a semi-wet look.

WEEKLY TREATMENTS
Exfoliation: Gently work a small amount of Facial Scrub on your face, using small, upward circular motions. Stimulates cell renewal and revitalizes complexion.
Clay Mask: Apply a thin layer of Clarifying Clay Mask to cleansed facial skin; let it dry (approx. 10 min) and rinse clean. Tightens, tones and clarifies as it dissolves dead cells.
* Facial scrubs and clay masks keep the pores clear of the material that forms blemishes and black heads
* Never use a facial scrub if you have moderate to severe acne. This process may aggravate the condition.

MOISTURISERS AND SKIN TYPES
Normal - Oily Skin Types
* Oil Free Moisturizer
* Under Eye Complex
* Night Cream AHA

Normal - Dry Skin Types
* Super Shape SPF 15 - skin conditioner
* Under Eye Complex
* Night Cream AHA

Keeping your skin well hydrated is not only healthy, but will prolong your skins elasticity and help combat the skin"s aging process. Apply moisturisers sparingly, some skin types may require more than others. Start with a light application gradually adding more until skin feels comfortable.
Don"t forget the lips - Dry flaky lips are the result of lost moisture. Drink plenty of water and use a Hydro Salve lip balm to keep hydrated.

Why use under eye cream?
Eyes are the first area of a man"s face to show signs of aging. Under eye skin is extremely delicate. As you age, it gets thinner and more susceptible to wrinkles. Using your fingertip, apply small dabs of Under Eye Complex to the soft tissue that surrounds the eye. Do not rub in, pat with fingertips.

What is Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA)?
Night Cream AHA"s active ingredient contains fruit acids (Glycolic Acid "AHA") designed to slowly exfoliate the top layers of the skin minimizing fine lines and restoring skins elasticity.

Why is SPF so important?
Exposure to the sun"s damaging UV rays is one of the leading causes of premature skin aging and also puts you at a higher risk of developing skin cancer, hyper pigmentation and broken capillaries.
